Overview
Sub-accounts let colleagues access your ALYPOD account without sharing your main login. You assign each user a role that limits what they can see and do. This is managed at account.alypod.com under Account → Users.
Why use sub-accounts
- Give engineers access to the ALYPOD Console without exposing billing.
- Give finance access to invoices without access to servers.
- Revoke access instantly when someone leaves.
- Every action is tied to an individual user for auditing.
Steps to add a sub-account
- Sign in at account.alypod.com.
- Go to Account → Users and click Invite user.
- Enter the person's name and email address.
- Choose a role (see below).
- Send the invitation; they set their own password and 2FA.
- Adjust permissions later from the same page.
Typical permissions
- Owner — full access, including billing and user management.
- Admin — manage services and support tickets, but not billing details.
- Billing — view and pay invoices only.
- Support — open and reply to tickets.
Best practice
- Grant the least privilege each person needs.
- Require 2FA for all sub-accounts.
- Review the user list regularly and remove inactive accounts.
- Do not share one login between people.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: A user cannot see a Pod. Solution: Check their role and whether the service is assigned to them.
- Problem: Removing a user is not possible. Solution: The owner account cannot be removed; transfer ownership first if needed.
- Problem: A user is locked out. Solution: Re-send the invitation or ask them to reset their password.
