Overview
This guide walks you through deploying your first CPU Pod from the ALYPOD Console and connecting to it over SSH. It assumes you already have an account with a payment method or credit balance.
Before you begin
- A verified ALYPOD account.
- An SSH key pair, or willingness to receive a root password by email.
- A note of which OS you want (for example Ubuntu 24.04 LTS).
Steps
- Sign in at account.alypod.com and open the ALYPOD Console.
- Click Deploy Pod and choose a Pod family (start with Shared if unsure).
- Select a location close to your users to reduce latency.
- Choose an operating system image and the plan size (vCPU, RAM, disk).
- Under SSH keys, paste your public key (
~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub). If you skip this, the root password is emailed to you. - Give the Pod a hostname and confirm the order.
- Wait for the status to change from Provisioning to Running — usually under a minute.
- Copy the Pod's public IP from the Console, then connect:
bash
ssh [email protected]
- Update the system and set a hostname:
bash
apt update && apt upgrade -y
hostnamectl set-hostname web01
Troubleshooting
- Problem:
Permission denied (publickey). Solution: Confirm the right key is loaded (ssh-add -l) and that you pasted the matching public key. - Problem: Connection times out. Solution: Check the Pod is Running and that your local firewall allows outbound port 22.
