Overview

This article explains how tax is applied to your ALYPOD invoices, how billing periods work, and how to keep your tax details correct at account.alypod.com.

Billing periods

  • Monthly — the most common option; you are invoiced each month in advance.
  • Annual — pay for twelve months up front, usually at a lower effective rate.
  • Hourly — some Pods can be billed by the hour; usage is totalled and invoiced periodically.

Renewal invoices are generated ahead of the due date so you can pay before the current period ends.

How tax is calculated

  • Tax is based on your billing country and, where applicable, your VAT/tax ID.
  • Businesses in the same VAT area as ALYPOD can supply a valid VAT ID to reverse the charge where the law allows.
  • Consumers are charged the applicable rate for their country.
  • The invoice shows the subtotal, the tax line and the total.

Updating tax details

  1. Sign in at account.alypod.com.
  2. Go to Account → Tax details.
  3. Enter your VAT or tax identification number and confirm your country.
  4. Save. The new details apply to future invoices.
  5. If a recent invoice used the wrong rate, open a billing ticket with your tax ID.

Notes

  • Address and country changes only affect future invoices, not already-issued ones.
  • Keep your details accurate: incorrect information may cause failed payments or compliance issues.
  • Exchange rates, where used, are applied at the time of invoicing.

Troubleshooting

  • Problem: VAT was charged but should be reversed. Solution: Add a valid VAT ID; if it is already added, contact support with the invoice number.
  • Problem: Invoice total differs from the plan price. Solution: The difference is usually tax; open the invoice to see the tax line.
