Overview
You can change the size or plan of a CPU Pod as your needs change. Upgrades add resources immediately; downgrades usually take effect at the next renewal. Changes are made in the ALYPOD Console.
Before you begin
- Back up important data or take a snapshot before resizing.
- Note that resizing a Pod typically requires a reboot.
- Confirm the new plan is available in your Pod's location.
Upgrading
- Sign in at account.alypod.com and open the ALYPOD Console.
- Select the Pod and open Plan / Upgrade.
- Choose a larger plan, for example more vCPU, RAM or disk.
- Review the prorated charge and confirm.
- The Pod reboots with the new resources. Verify with:
bash
nproc
free -m
df -h
Downgrading
- Open the Pod in the Console and choose Plan / Downgrade.
- Select the smaller plan.
- Confirm. The change is scheduled for the next renewal to avoid data loss.
- Ensure the current disk usage fits within the smaller plan's disk size before the change takes effect.
Billing
- Upgrades are prorated for the remainder of the current period.
- Downgrades reduce the cost from the next renewal.
- A credit may appear on your account after a downgrade.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: The new plan is not offered. Solution: Not all plans exist in every location; check availability or deploy a new Pod.
- Problem: Disk usage exceeds the smaller plan. Solution: Delete or move data, or add a Storage Box, before downgrading.
- Problem: The Pod will not boot after a resize. Solution: Boot into rescue mode
and check
dmesganddf -h; contact support if it persists.
