Overview
CWP (CentOS Web Panel) is a free/Pro hosting control panel that bundles a web stack (Apache/Nginx, PHP, MySQL/MariaDB, Postfix, Dovecot, DNS) with a browser UI. It is a lighter-weight alternative to cPanel and runs on RHEL-family distributions such as AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux and CentOS Stream. CWP Pro adds extra modules and support.
Before you begin
- A CPU Pod with AlmaLinux 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9 or CentOS Stream, root access.
- A static IP and a hostname such as
panel.example.com. - A clean server (no existing web/database stack).
- A CWP Pro licence from the ALYPOD Console if you want Pro features.
Steps
- Update the system and set the hostname:
bash
dnf -y update
hostnamectl set-hostname panel.example.com
- Disable SELinux and reboot (CWP expects it off):
bash
setenforce 0
sed -i 's/^SELINUX=enforcing/SELINUX=disabled/' /etc/selinux/config
reboot
- Install prerequisites:
bash
dnf -y install wget curl sudo
- Run the official CWP installer:
bash
cd /usr/local/src
wget http://centos-webpanel.com/cwp-el9-latest
sh cwp-el9-latest
- When it completes, open the login URL in your browser:
http://<pod-ip>:2030
Log in with
rootand configure nameservers, admin email and shared IP in the initial setup wizard.Enable CWP Pro from the panel (CWP Settings → CWP Pro) and paste your licence key, if purchased.
Open the required ports in the ALYPOD firewall (2030 for the panel, 80/443 for sites).
Troubleshooting
- Problem: Installer stalls downloading packages. Solution: Confirm DNS resolution
and that the Pod can reach the mirror;
curl -I <url>tests connectivity. - Problem: Panel not reachable on 2030. Solution: Check
systemctl status cwpsrvand the firewall; CWP uses a custom service name. - Problem: Websites show the default page. Solution: Create a user/account in CWP, then create a domain under that account.
