Overview

Plesk is a commercial control panel available for Linux and Windows. It manages websites, mail, databases, DNS, SSL and Docker from a single UI, and supports both Apache and Nginx. On ALYPOD Cloud you can install Plesk on a supported Pod and license it through account.alypod.com.

Before you begin

  • A CPU Pod with a supported OS: AlmaLinux 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9, Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 or Debian 12, root access.
  • A valid hostname and static IP.
  • A Plesk licence key (or the free single-domain licence to start).
  • No conflicting control panel installed.

Steps

  1. Update the OS and install prerequisites:

```bash
RHEL family
dnf -y update && dnf -y install wget
Debian / Ubuntu
apt update && apt -y install wget ```
  1. Run the Plesk one-line installer:
bash sh <(curl https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer || wget -O - https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer)
  1. When installation completes, the installer prints your login URL. Open it:
https://<hostname-or-pod-ip>:8443
  1. Log in as root with your system password and complete the initial configuration: admin contact, licence and password.
  2. Enter your licence key under Tools & Settings → Licence Management, or activate the free licence if you are just evaluating.
  3. Create your first domain under Websites & Domains → Add Domain and install an application such as WordPress from the Applications tab.
  4. Allow port 8443 and ports 80/443 through the ALYPOD firewall.
Troubleshooting
  • Problem: Browser shows a certificate warning on first login. Solution: Plesk generates a self-signed certificate initially; replace it with a Let's Encrypt certificate under Tools & Settings → SSL/TLS Certificates.
  • Problem: Installer fails on an unsupported OS. Solution: Rebuild the Pod with a supported image from the Console, then rerun the installer.
  • Problem: Cannot reach 8443. Solution: Verify the ALYPOD firewall rules and that sw-cp-server (Plesk's web server) is running.
