Overview
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second check at login, protecting your ALYPOD account even if your password is leaked. We strongly recommend enabling it for every account. It is configured at account.alypod.com under Account → Security.
Before you begin
- An authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or a password manager that supports TOTP.
- Access to your account email as a backup.
Steps
- Sign in at account.alypod.com.
- Go to Account → Security → Two-factor authentication.
- Click Enable 2FA.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the setup key manually.
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in the app to confirm.
- Save the recovery codes in a safe place — they are the only way back in if you lose your device.
- Click Save.
Using 2FA
When you log in, enter your password, then the current 6-digit code. You can tick Remember this device to skip 2FA for 30 days on trusted machines.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: Codes are always rejected. Solution: Set your device clock to automatic time; TOTP depends on accurate time.
- Problem: You lost your device. Solution: Use a saved recovery code, or open a support ticket from the login page and complete identity verification.
- Problem: You want to turn 2FA off. Solution: Disable it under the same Security page; you will need a current code or a recovery code.
